Willow before.....

Willow before.....

I am sitting here in the study feeling a little bit guilty, something I have been feeling all week, before I had done the actual act. The act is now 90% complete and there is no going back now, unless I want my willow tree to look like it has have a complete haircut but I got bored or forgot the last branch!

Yes, you have probably guessed, this weekend was cut the willow day but my guilt is due to the fact that honey bees (and other foragers for that matter) love Willow for early season nectar – which I never knew before – I didn’t even realise that trees were a really important part of the honey bee diet! Something that I never thought I would hear myself say……..”I am now on Facebook”. I have avoided Facebook like the plague for many years, despite being a great advocate of Social Media Marketing in my corporate life. I have never liked the thought of it and the fact that everyone can see everything about you but I have been shown another path and in the interests of keeping the bees going I have logged on! I am sat here on a nice comfy sofa with my legs stretched out in front of me. I am looking at a lovely open fire that is radiating warmth and I feel that slightly numb affect of a couple of glasses of wine. So here we all are looking forward to Christmas. Presents seem to be arriving most days now (especially for Sebastian, our 15 month old son). I am now home from work for Christmas, which I have to say, is fantastic. It is nice to now only have to think about Friday and nothing else. I am also getting time with Seb which is simply wonderful. However, I am also able to get myself in lots of trouble with regard the Christmas presents….. Read the rest of this entry »
